Aurora Seeks Nominations for the
2008 Business Recognition Awards

The City of Aurora is seeking nominations for its annual Business Recognition Awards Program. The city will honor both small and large outstanding businesses in October 2008.

Nominees must be licensed to operate within Aurora and will be evaluated based on several factors, including longevity, innovation, exemplary customer service delivery and community involvement. Major companies can also be nominated for a significant capital investment and/or annual revenues.

Launched in 2005 by Aurora City Manager Ron Miller, the Business Recognition Awards Program aspires to build and reinforce relationships with local businesses and entrepreneurs. The city also uses this program to appreciate new businesses within Aurora by recognizing them for significant achievements throughout the year.

Nomination forms are available on the city's web site, www.auroragov.org or at www.aurorabdc.com , and must be completed and returned no later than August 1, 2008. To learn more, call the Aurora Business Development Center at (303) 326-8690.

CDOT Disparity Study

The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is conducting a Disparity Study to determine what facts, if any, exist to support CDOT programs that enhance the use of minority- and woman-owned businesses.

Because you are a representative of an important business organization in Colorado , we are asking that you help spread the word.  Please forward this information to your members and colleagues and ask that they participate by completing a brief online business survey.

Click Here to Start the Survey
We are interested in hearing about the contracting and subcontracting experiences of firms that do work related to highway construction, design or engineering.  By completing the confidential survey, your members will have a direct impact on the future of CDOT's contracting practices.

Thank you for your support,

Debra Gallegos, Manager
Colorado Dept. of Transportation
Center for Equal Opportunity

For more information about the CDOT Disparity Study, or to schedule a personal interview, please call (303) 504-5243.
