Are You Ready for a Large Disaster or Emergency?
Are You CERTain? |
Community Emergency Response Training teaches readiness, people helping people, rescuer safety, and doing the greatest
good for the greatest number. C E R T is a positive and realistic approach to emergency
and disaster situations where citizens will be initially on their own and their actions can make
a difference.
Through training, citizens can manage utilities, put out small fires, provide basic medical aid,
search for and rescue victims safely, and organize themselves and spontaneous volunteers
to be effective.
The City of Aurora will hold a training series in March, but register early as space is limited.
You may also want to gather supplies in advance of a disaster. For more information on assembling a 72-hour Emergency Kit, contact the Office of Emergency Management at (303) 739-7636 or e-mail afd_oem@auroragov.org. |
