Aurora Business Awards

A core service of the Aurora Business Development Center is the annual slate of business seminars.  Taking one or more Aurora business seminars is the best way, at no or low cost, to get a wealth of information in one three-hour session - - from business planning to marketing strategies, from bookkeeping to sales tax, from government contracts to the food business. Changes at the Aurora Business Development Center

Change is Good
The Aurora Business Development Center looks ahead to the New Year!

First of all, the Aurora BDC is proud of its reputation for excellent customer service and offering support to Aurora's fine business community. There will be no changes on that front. However, to improve efficiency at the city of Aurora, the Aurora BDC will be moving to the Aurora Municipal Center (AMC) at the end of March.  The Aurora BDC is now a division of the Planning and Development Services Department at the city, and the office is moving to the 2nd floor of the AMC. All seminars for 2010, unless otherwise noted, will take place at the AMC beginning with January's classes. Specific room location will be confirmed with attendees upon required pre-registration.

Beginning in April, all counseling will take place at the AMC by appointment only. This will allow time for scheduling a private room for confidentiality purposes--always a priority with our Small Business Specialists.

One of the advantages to the move will be easy access to other departments of the city, such as Tax & Licensing, building permits and zoning. We'll also be on the same campus as the Aurora Central Library, which houses an excellent selection of business reference and informational books.

So, take note, the Aurora BDC is on the move, and we'll keep you posted as Moving Day draws near.
